NCG is thrilled to have been awarded capital funding from the Department for Education (DFE) to support delivery of T Levels across its Carlisle and Kidderminster Colleges.

The college group will begin to deliver T Levels across its colleges from September 2023, and was successful in its bid for funding to improve its construction and digital facilities to support the rollout.

Supporting NCG’s aim to provide its learners with outstanding learning environments, the funding award from the Buildings and Facilities Improvement Grant (BFIG), will allow the Group to improve and expand its existing facilities at both colleges.

Commenting on the announcement, NCG’s CEO Liz Bromley said:  “This funding will not only help us to improve our existing facilities, but to offer more learners the opportunity to gain qualifications in construction and digital, areas which are both crucial to the Government’s Levelling Up Agenda yet suffering skills shortages across the country.

“In Carlisle, we will be able to extend our existing construction teaching space and create essential new innovative workshop spaces that will meet industry standards and accommodate a rapidly growing construction cohort.

“Equally, in Kidderminster, we will be able to improve and remodel our digital infrastructure to create a suite of flexible and high-quality digital social, teaching and learning spaces that mimic industry, ensuring that learners benefit from the latest technology and have the required skills to enter industry.

These improvements will create enhanced spaces for young people to learn, encourage collaboration and accommodate employer-led activity, and ultimately help us to provide our learners with world-class facilities.”
