Back in April, Kidderminster College Sports students were given the opportunity to join a Virtual Q&A With England Men's U19 Coach Ian Foster as part of the journalism segment of their vocational sports qualification.
Learner’s asked an array of great questions which included best tactical coaching techniques and how Ian’s personal influences led him to become a professional player and coach.
Ian also shared some great career highlights such as playing against footballing legend Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne and how a slight slip on the pitch led him to cause Gazza a minor injury! Ian also declared former Liverpool player John Barnes as one of his all time footballing heroes and how it was a dream to work alongside him.
Learners also discussed the impact of pressure on elite athletes and the importance of looking after mental health.
It was a great opportunity for learners to emulate a real life press conference along with improving confidence and communication skills.
