West Lancashire College, Newcastle College and NCG have all been shortlisted in several categories at this year's Educate North awards.
The Educate North Awards is a prestigious annual awards event which celebrates, recognises and shares best practice and excellence in the education sector in the North.
West Lancashire College, School of Medicine has been shortlisted for both the Social Mobility Award, and the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Awards. Newcastle College has been shortlisted for the Student Experience Award, Mental Health and Wellbeing Award, and Community Engagement Award.
NCG has also been shortlisted in the Innovation Award category for the “Anytime, Anywhere, Any Device: just-in-time micro-learning for NCG educators” project.
This project brings together professionals from services and colleges across NCG and is aimed at inspiring teachers to adopt and utilise technology in their practise, embedding digital content in learning materials and developing a digitally literate and collaborative community of colleagues, learners and employer partners.
It is led by the Learning Technology Innovation Group (LTIG), delivered by our Business Systems Trainers and further developed and cascaded by NCG Tutors, Curriculum Delivery Teams, and Professional Services Teams.
Commenting on the announcement, NCG’s Head of Learning Technology and Digital Learning Rob Wraith said: “To have two of our NCG colleges shortlisted in multiple categories - and NCG shortlisted in the Innovation Award - is excellent news. This is a true testament and recognition for all the hard work and commitment NCG colleagues have put in to improving teaching and learning as well as staff and student support as we strive for excellence.”
The awards ceremony is due to take place in Manchester on Thursday 27 April.
