About West Lancashire College

West Lancashire College is a thriving community-based college in the heart of the region and home to around 2,500 learners, including young people and adults of all abilities and backgrounds. It offers programmes from entry level to degree level and every step in between, including BTECs, apprenticeships and A Levels. In 2019 it launched a unique A Level programme - The School of Medicine, developed in partnership with the West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), to meet the growing skills shortage in the medical sector, which boats 100% pass rate and 100% progression to higher education. The College's vision is to be at the heart of the local community, a welcoming, supportive, inclusive and safe place, with a vibrant and diverse community, and to be recognised for the work it does in supporting social mobility through a skills and careers focused curriculum that connects individuals to opportunities and enables people to fulfil their potential throughout their lives.

North West Express Ltd

Managing Director of North West Express Ltd, Rene Mallett said:

“We decided to recruit an Apprentice so that we could focus more on the productivity of the business by allocating administration and general duties to free up our time in other areas.

"Our Apprentice has helped us to keep costs low whilst training and developing a working relationship, instead of hiring someone who is then not suitable and wasting time and resources. Having a young mind injects new ideas from a perspective we have not looked at previously.”
