Lewisham College celebrated their new partnership with Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance at new creative facilities in the heart of the borough.

Invited to the virtual tour were representatives from Lewisham Council, Goldsmiths University and local schools and community organisations. The tour highlighted the importance and strength of the partnership and how it will impact their communities.

The event, hosted by young people who are studying the new courses, showcased some of the exciting projects they are embarking on and the production and performing arts disciplines they are learning.

Claire Middleton, Principal at Rose Bruford College, said: “This collaboration with Lewisham College embodies Rose Bruford College’s commitment to removing barriers to Higher Education – our offers of places are aspirational, based on each individual’s talent and potential and not just on exam grades. We pride ourselves on offering fair access to students from all backgrounds. We are looking forward to working with all students at Lewisham College, to giving them a truly excellent student experience and to creating the change-makers of the future.”

Attendees at the event had the opportunity to join a live tour of the College and the department’s facilities with students Lakeisha Nibi and Azaria Kabengele, who will go on to study American Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford in September.

“Working with our community partners is in the DNA of everything we do, and we are immensely proud to be working in conjunction with Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance to reconnect with aspiring professionals in Lewisham and to support the new generation of creatives as they progress in their chosen career path within the creative industry.”
