NCG Higher Education Centre delivers career-focused higher education programmes that are designed in close alignment with industry, professional practice and employer needs. Our programmes combine academic study with applied, work-related learning, enabling students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required for progression into employment or further study. Programmes in Business Management, Computing, and Integrated Health, Social Care and Well-Being are shaped by real-world contexts and include opportunities for students to engage with employers through live briefs, work-based learning, guest speakers, and industry-informed assessment. This ensures that learning is relevant, current and directly connected to professional practice.

The Centre is committed to widening access to higher education and supporting students from diverse backgrounds, including mature students and those returning to study. Clear progression routes, flexible delivery and strong academic and pastoral support enable students to balance study with work and personal commitments while developing into confident, independent higher education students. Employability is embedded throughout the curriculum, with a focus on transferable skills such as communication, digital capability, teamwork, problem solving and professional development. Students are encouraged to reflect on their learning, build professional confidence, and prepare for sustainable careers in their chosen sectors.

The Certificate of Higher Education in Integrated Health, Social Care and Wellbeing provides a strong introduction to the core principles of health and social care practice. Students develop an understanding of how organisations operate while building key academic and professional skills in areas such as social care provisions, safeguarding, communication, and the wider health and social care environment.

Designed with employability in mind, the programme combines academic study with practical learning, helping students develop interpersonal, reflective, and problem-solving skills valued by employers. The CertHE represents the first year of higher education study and provides a foundation for progression to a Foundation Degree in Integrated Health, Social Care Well-Being or related degree programmes.

Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have:

A UK Level 3 qualification with a minimum of 64 UCAS tariff points, or

EU or international qualifications considered equivalent to UK Level 3.

Applicants aged 21 or over who do not meet the standard academic requirements may still be considered if they have at least two years of relevant work experience. This experience should demonstrate transferable skills such as effective communication, time management, organisational ability, and the capacity to work effectively as part of a team.

What will I achieve?

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education Integrated Health, Social Care Well-Being, awarded by NCG.

The CertHE Integrated Health, Social Care Well-Being (Level 4) provides a strong foundation in key health and social care principles and prepares students for further academic progression. Upon successful completion, students can progress to the FdA Integrated Health, Social Care Well-Being.

Completion of this pathway provides graduates with a wide range of career prospects within the health and social care sector. These may include roles in management, community service, health administration, and care coordination. The course equips students with essential skills such as leadership, communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking, which are highly valued across industries.

This progression route supports both continued academic development and entry into professional health and social care environments.

The Foundation Degree in Integrated Health, Social Care and Well-being builds on the knowledge developed in the Certificate stage and provides a broader and deeper understanding of integrated care practices. The programme combines academic learning with work-related experience, enabling students to apply theory to real health and social care settings.

Students explore contemporary issues such as health inequalities and social justice, mental health and well-being, safeguarding and safe working practices, and understanding individuals across the life course. Through work-based learning and industry engagement, the programme focuses strongly on employability and prepares students for supervisory or management roles or progression to an honours degree.

Where can I progress?

Once you have successfully completed this FdA Integrated Health, Social Care and Wellbeing degree, you could enter employment in a variety of health, social care and wellbeing-related roles, including social worker, nurse, learning mentor or support manager.

You may also choose to progress onto an Honours Top-Up degree in a health and social care related discipline.

Canary Wharf Campus

The NCG Higher Education Centre is located in the heart of London’s Docklands, within the Harbour Exchange Business Centre close to Canary Wharf. The campus offers a modern, professional learning environment designed to support higher-level study and prepare students for professional workplaces.

Students benefit from contemporary teaching rooms, collaborative study spaces, and access to specialist facilities that support academic learning, group work, and independent study. The campus environment reflects the professional contexts many students are preparing to enter, helping to build confidence and workplace readiness alongside academic development.

The Centre is well connected, with South Quay DLR station a short walk away and excellent transport links across London. Its location within one of London’s key business districts provides students with access to professional networks, employer engagement opportunities, and a vibrant working environment that complements the career-focused nature of the programmes.

Study at NCG Higher Education Centre

Entry Requirements

Entry criteria vary across programmes. Applicants will typically require a Level 3 qualification such as A Levels, BTEC Extended Diplomas or an Access to Higher Education Diploma. Equivalent vocational qualifications may also be considered.

Some courses may accept relevant professional or workplace experience in place of formal qualifications. Applicants whose first language is not English may be asked to demonstrate language proficiency.

Admissions decisions are made fairly and consistently, with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate.
