Carlisle College has been named Construction Apprenticeship Provider of the Year at a prestigious industry event this month, cementing its status as the country’s best provider of construction apprenticeships.

The Construction Apprenticeship Awards recognise excellence and the achievements of apprentices, providers and employers in the UK Construction Apprenticeships Sector, with award winners demonstrating consistent high-quality and innovation.

Sponsored by the EPA Construction company, this year’s celebrations took place at Future Skills at Media City, Manchester, where Carlisle College overcame tough competition from providers up and down the country to take the top prize of Provider of the Year.

Sarah McGrath, Principal of Carlisle College, said: “We are extremely proud to have been named Construction Apprenticeship Provider of the Year, it is a huge honour to be recognised for the work we do to equip all of our apprentices with the skills and experience they need to succeed in their career.

“We work hard to offer education and skills training that meets the skills needs of our employer partners in Carlisle and across our wider region, supporting our local economy and helping our learners to find real employment opportunities.

“We’re in the process of extending and improving our Construction Academy to create innovative new spaces that will support our rapidly growing construction cohort and I’m thrilled that the dedicated efforts of colleagues across our construction and apprenticeships teams to support our local industry and learners have been recognised.”
