Lewisham College student Abbie Jones was selected to exhibit her work at Origins Creatives 2025, a national showcase of emerging creative talent hosted at London’s Mall Galleries.
Origins Creatives is an annual exhibition that celebrates the creativity and innovation of students from University of the Arts London (UAL) accredited institutions, providing a national platform for young artists to share their work with the public and industry professionals.
Abbie, who is studying the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication, impressed judges with her powerful mixed media piece titled Mania. Mania was selected from hundreds of student submissions across the UK and was exhibited alongside pieces in art, design, fashion, media and performance.
Speaking about her inspiration, Abbie said: “I wanted to use my piece to educate and influence my audience. The silhouette signifies the construct of mania and the desperation to be seen and known. By using mirrors, I hoped viewers would see themselves and their own vulnerabilities within the work.”
The exhibition has closed now, but there are photos and videos of Abbie's work on their website: UAL Awarding Body Origins Creatives 2025 | Mall Galleries
