A brand-new Digital Learning Suite has been unveiled at Carlisle College, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and software.

The suite contains high-tech equipment for degree level digital students to use including microservers, the latest laptops, and Clevertouch screen monitors, as well as iPad Pros and interactive teaching screens.

Ashley Graham, head of higher education at Carlisle College, said: "We strive to provide our students with the best learning facilities. This investment has really helped us to significantly enhance the learning experience of our students, by providing them with the opportunity to use the latest technology and industry-standard equipment."

The new space is the first phase of a three-year investment into higher education (HE) facilities at Carlisle College. As part of the leading college group NCG, the college has been awarded a share of £6 million of funding from the Office for Students (OfS).

Over the next two years, further investment will be made to equip facilities for construction, engineering and energy, while the existing learning resource centre will be remodelled to create a dedicated higher education space, classrooms, and a high-spec computer-aided-design (CAD)/building-information-modelling (BIM) suite.

All of the new facilities are designed to help close the region’s skills gaps at higher technical levels and enable Carlisle College to respond to changing skills needs.
