West Lancashire College students recently participated in the Lancashire Skills Hub and Future U Lancashire Colleges Skills Competitions.
Nine colleges from the region took part in the event, hosting a competition each. West Lancashire College was involved in 7 of the 9 competitions and excelled in all subjects, coming first in Engineering and Early Years, and second in Hair and Beauty. Three students were also named as “Rising Stars” in their subjects: Kenz in Automotive, Daisy in Health and Social Care and Maisie in Hair and Beauty.
Each competition was judged by a panel of key local employers, with medals and certificates being awarded to the winners and the runners-up.
Gareth Sutton, Vice Principal at West Lancashire College said: “The Lancashire Skills Competitions have been a fantastic opportunity for our students to get involved, demonstrate their newly developed skills, and work alongside other similar minded students from across our county. We are extremely proud of all participating students for both their great success and for representing the college in a very positive manner.”
