West Lancashire College was named Leadership Team of the Year at the 2025 Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs), held at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. The college was also Highly Commended in the Skills Provider of the Year category, reinforcing its reputation for excellence in education and leadership.

Organised by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, the BIBAs are Lancashire's most prestigious business awards, recognising outstanding organisations and individuals across the region.

This latest accolade follows the college's win as Skills Provider of the Year in 2024, marking two consecutive years of recognition at the BIBAs. Vice Principal Gareth Sutton praised the dedication of staff and the college’s commitment to creating life-changing opportunities for students.

“We are enormously proud of our college and staff, the excellent support we provide to our students and the great opportunities we offer,” said Gareth. “Winning a BIBA for the second year running is a great honour and testament to the hard work and passion of our entire team.”

West Lancashire College attributes its success to strong employer partnerships, continuous investment in facilities, and a clear focus on the levelling up agenda. Students benefit from industry placements, guest lectures, masterclasses, and site visits with leading organisations, ensuring their learning is closely aligned with real-world careers.
