NCG has teamed up with new organisation Learner Happiness, to put student happiness at the heart of the college experience.

As part of a pioneering initiative, NCG has become one of the first in the UK’s further education sector to team up with Learner Happiness and pilot its 10-minute survey, a quick but powerful tool designed to uncover what truly makes young people happy at college.

Learner Happiness is dedicated to improving the happiness of learners in schools and colleges. The data shows, happy learners achieve more. Its mission is simple: to help education providers understand what drives joy, motivation and fulfilment among students, and to use these insights to shape more supportive learning environments.

Earlier this year, NCG took part in the annual survey, inviting students from all seven NCG colleges to share their thoughts on what makes them feel happy, valued and engaged. The results are now helping inform future wellbeing strategies and ensure that student voices are central to decision making.

Lisa Hoseason, Deputy Principal NCG said: “We’re proud to be among the first in the sector to work with Learner Happiness. Understanding what makes our students happy is key to helping them thrive, not just academically, but personally too. Learner Happiness provides insight into how your learners really feel, what makes them feel that way and practical suggestions to improve their happiness even further.”

Asher Silverman, Founder of Learner Happiness said: “To have NCG champion this right from the start is evidence of how much they care for their learners. Even some of their learners are part of our Learner Advisory Board. The insights we’re already pulling are so exciting, and NCG will be spearheading this new approach to happiness in education. To think we now have a waiting list of colleges wanting to use Learner Happiness, is so exciting and testament to NCG’s boldness in being trailblazers. We can’t wait to see what’s next with this partnership.”

NCG was presented with a Learner Happiness Trailblazer Award to acknowledge its role in the pilot and its commitment to student happiness.
